Konusu:
Joseon Hanedanlığı döneminde açılan ilk modern hastahaneyi ve orada yaşanan olayları konu alıyor.
Babası bir kasap (Güney Kore'de en düşük sosyal konum) olan Hwang Jeong, Kore'nin Joseon Hanedanlığı sırasında kıdemli doktorlardan biri olmak için çalışır. Bu sebeple "Jejungwon"da çalışmaya başlar. Jejungwon, Güney Kore'de batı tıbbı üzerine eğitim verilen ilk modern hastanedir.
Jejungwon 10 Nisan 1885'te kurulmuştur ("Gwanghyewon" adı altında kurulmuş fakat kısa bir süre sonra "Jejungwon" olarak daha sonra da 1904'te "Severence Hastanesi" olarak değiştirilmiştir). Hastane günümüzde Güney Kore, Seoul, Yonsei Üniversitesi kampüsünde bulunmaktadır.
